Dear Luke,
You have been a big brother now for 5 days and you are handling it so very well! In the week or so before Nora was born, I was hoping to do some special things with you, but that didn't work out like I had planned since I got shingles and had to take it easy. We did go to the Bagel Cafe with Nana for a special date in the morning on the Sunday I went into labor, which was fun. You were delighted with your harvest whole wheat bagel.
When you came to the hospital to meet Nora, it went just like I expected. You were excited to see Mama and Dada and busily went around the room flipping light switches, opening drawers, pushing buttons and generally investigating everything new around you. You saw Nora in her crib and said, "baby." When we got home from the hospital, we gave you a new train set for your big brother gift. You are very happy with it. In the days since we got home, you have given Nora kisses and high fives, counted her toes, tried to stick her pacifier in her mouth, handed Daddy wipes for a diaper change, swung her in her swing, and enjoyed pushing the buttons on her sound machine and baby bouncer. You loved looking at pictures of "baby" on Honey's phone and excitedly exclaim "baby" while pointing to Nora every time you see her. This morning when you got up with Honey, you eagerly ran into our room wanting to see "baby" first thing. It is so sweet to see you with her. You are already a wonderful big brother. I love you so much and am very proud of you!
Love,
Mommy
