Dear Luke,
In the past few days it feels like Daddy and I have seen an explosion in your learning, or more likely, we've been given a glimpse into all you've been absorbing and processing over time.
A few nights ago, you and I were looking at one of your picture/vocabulary books in your room and you were heavily concentrating as I said the words and pointed to the pictures. When I pointed to the baby in the diaper and said "diaper," you looked up at your changing table. Then when I did the same for "socks," you pointed at your feet! I was so excited. I must be your mom to feel like this is a big deal, but it is!
Last night, the 3 of us went out to eat at Mission Burrito in La Centerra. While waiting in line, I told Daddy you know where your head is. So, he asked, "Where's your head?" and you put your hands on your head. Then, one of us asked where your nose was and you grabbed my nose, then Daddy's! Next, you correctly identified our chins when we asked about your chin. Earlier that day when I asked where your nose was, you pointed at your cheek. I wasn't sure if that was random or if you were trying to find your nose. Now I think you just couldn't find your nose, so you smartly decided to point to the ones you could easily identify. You're such a smart little boy. :)
I'm so proud of you and so very thankful to the Lord for your personality, your health and development, and that you're a happy boy. I look forward to all the new discoveries in communication that we're going to share in the coming months!
Love,
Mommy
